Laurence Girard is a serial healthcare entrepreneur and the CEO & Founder of Fruit Street Health, a digital health startup that is working to improve the health of the public by delivering the CDC's diabetes prevention program via telehealth and live group video conferencing with registered dietitians. He has raised more than $35 million in financing from hundreds of physicians who are passionate about diabetes prevention. The company has served more than 45,000 patients with prediabetes. Laurence was also recently selected as a London Business School 2024 Sloan Fellow. The Sloan Fellows program is the world's first mid-career and senior career master's degree in general management and leadership. It was initially supported by a grant from Alfred P. Sloan, the late CEO of General Motors, to his alma mater, MIT. The program was established in 1930 at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Later it was expanded to the Stanford Graduate School of Business (1957), and London Business School (1968). Considered to be one of the most prestigious management training programs in the world, it targets experienced leaders who have demonstrated success either within organizations, or independently as entrepreneurs. Notable alumni include Kofi Annan, former United Nations Secretary-General and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate (MIT, '72), John Browne, Baron Browne of Madingley, former chairman and CEO of BP and member of the British House of Lords (Stanford, '81), and Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard (MIT, '89). Laurence is also an alumni of Harvard Business School, having completed the Program for Leadership Development 36 and he also completed the Venture Capital & Private Equity executive education program at Columbia Business School. Laurence is also the CEO & Founder of Healthcare Shares, a digital advertising agency focused on helping healthcare startups utilize LinkedIn advertising for fundraising and revenue generation. Hippocrates Ventures was also founded by Mr. Girard, an early stage physician funded venture capital firm that has invested in several startups including two medical device companies. Laurence's mission in the world is to use the power of business, technology, and entrepreneurship to improve public health.
