Dr. Brandy Duhon holds the title of Director of Campus Relations. In this role, she supports students in finding externships and job placements within general practices throughout the Midwest, South, and Southeast. These opportunities prioritize excellent mentorship and unique career growth, ensuring that students can gain valuable experiences and connections in their field.
Education and Expertise
Dr. Brandy Duhon received a BS degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2005. She furthered her education by obtaining a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Her areas of clinical interest include general practice, shelter medicine, disaster response, and high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter.
Background and Personal Story
Diagnosed with meningitis as a child, Dr. Brandy Duhon underwent amputations of both hands and a portion of her foot. Despite these physical challenges, she pursued her dream career in veterinary medicine, becoming a role model and mentor for students both with and without disabilities. Her personal story is an inspiration to many aspiring veterinarians, demonstrating resilience and determination.
