About Aarthi Belani

I focus on M&A and venture deals in tech and life sciences. I represent strategic acquirers, especially in cross-border deals, venture capital funds, corporate venture capital, and emerging growth technology companies. I have also represented the sell-side and advised on sustainability, impact investment, health care, and financial services deals. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, I was a partner in the M&A practice of Jones Day. Before that, I was on the in-house legal team covering strategy and corporate development at Credit Suisse in New York. I was also a member of the Sustainability Network, a Credit Suisse OneBank (cross-divisional) initiative to develop impact investment products. I started my career at the New York office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, where I worked on complex cross-border M&A and innovative development finance. I mentor with the Unreasonable Group. I am on the Silicon Valley Executive Board of How Women Lead, which is part of the campaign to get greater representation of women among investment managers and on corporate boards. And I am a director of Bidoun, a not-for-profit publishing, curatorial, and educational initiative that prints a quarterly magazine showcasing art and culture from the Middle East. Prior to my private practice legal career, I was an academic fellow at NYU School of Law's Institute for International Law and Justice, where I also received my J.D. and LLM. My B.A. is from Stanford University. In certain jurisdictions, this may be considered attorney advertising.
