Work at HSBC
Jane Daniels has been serving as the Support & Engagement Manager at HSBC since 2018. In this role, she manages charity partnerships around HSBC's global headquarters and engages employees in volunteer programs focused on Employability and Financial Capability. Prior to her current position, she worked as a CSR Project Manager in Community Investment from 2012 to 2017 and as an Executive Assistant in CSR/Community Investment from 2010 to 2012. Throughout her tenure at HSBC, she has contributed to various initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and community involvement.
Education and Expertise
Jane Daniels has a diverse educational background. She attended Northbury Junior School from 1975 to 1980 and later studied at Barking Abbey Comprehensive from 1981 to 1986. She pursued further education in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) at Hummingbird Effect, achieving the NLP Practitioner certification in January 2016 and the NLP Master Practitioner certification in September 2016. Her expertise in mindfulness and community engagement is evident in her professional roles and initiatives.
Mindfulness Initiatives
Jane co-founded the Employee Resource Group, Mindfulness@hsbc, which aims to support employees in managing their busy lives through group meditation, talks, and guidance. She designed a Sharepoint site for Mindfulness@hsbc that includes a monthly Mindful blog, recommended reading/listening, courses, guided meditation downloads, and a Mindful newsfeed. Additionally, she trains Mindfulness Champions across the UK as part of this initiative, promoting mindfulness practices within the organization.
Community Engagement and Volunteering
In her role, Jane manages charity partnerships and actively engages employees in volunteer programs. She volunteers with charity partners by delivering mock interviews at schools and hosting insight days. Her commitment to community service has been recognized, as she received an award from the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Mindfulness in 2016 for her contributions to workplace mindfulness.
Personal Development and Workshops
Outside of her professional responsibilities at HSBC, Jane runs personal meditation workshops in Chelmsford. These workshops are separate from her corporate role and reflect her dedication to promoting mindfulness and well-being in the community. Her initiatives aim to help individuals develop personal mindfulness practices and enhance their overall quality of life.
