Previous Experience in Aerospace Engineering
Before joining hypcloud, Yann Basly accumulated extensive experience in the aerospace sector. He worked at Esterline as a Project Manager for six months in 2012 in Bourges. Following this, he held the position of Responsable Mécanique at Messier-Bugatti-Dowty from 2012 to 2013 for nine months in Massy-Palaiseau. He also served as In-Service Program Chief Engineer at the same company from 2013 to 2014 for eleven months in Vélizy.
Mechanical Engineering Background
Yann Basly studied Mechanical Engineering and Composite Materials at Polytech Annecy-Chambéry, where he earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) from 2004 to 2007. Prior to this, he attended Lycée de l'Europe, completing a Classe préparatoire aux grandes écoles PTSI/PT from 2002 to 2004. This educational foundation provided him with the technical skills necessary for his career in engineering.
Experience at Astrium and Y Combinator
Yann Basly worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Astrium from 2008 to 2012 for four years in Les Mureaux. His experience also includes a three-month stint at Y Combinator during the Summer 2018 batch in Mountain View, California.
