Laurence Hermant studied at Lycée Jacques Amyot in Auxerre, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from 1989 to 1991. She furthered her education at Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC), obtaining a Licence in Lettres modernes from 1995 to 1996. She also earned a Maîtrise de Lettres Modernes in Littérature comparée from Université Paris-Sorbonne in 1996-1997.
