Currently, Saaswath Lakshmanan Nachiappa serves as a Research Intern at Inria, specifically within the TARAN project. This role commenced in 2023 and is set to last for one year. Inria is a prominent research institution in France, known for its contributions to computer science and applied mathematics.

Education and Expertise

Saaswath is pursuing a combined B.Tech and M.Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, from 2019 to 2024. He has a strong interest in RISC-V architecture, FPGA, and embedded design, with a particular focus on hardware security and hardware/software co-design for domain-specific architecture.

Research Experience

Saaswath has accumulated diverse research experience. He has worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) since 2022. Additionally, he has held a position as a Research Design Intern at IIT Madras's SHAKTI, RISE Lab since 2022. His previous internships include a role at AB Circuits and Research Labs as a Hardware/Firmware Intern in 2021 and a Summer Research Project at the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar in the same year.

Leadership and Involvement

Saaswath has demonstrated leadership and involvement in various extracurricular activities. He served as the Institute Captain of the Cycling Club at IIT (BHU) from 2021 to 2022. He also held the position of Director of Creative Affairs for the IIT (BHU) Model United Nations Conference in 2022. His engagement extends to being a community member of RISC-V International since 2021 and participating in the Club of Programmers at IIT BHU from 2020 to 2022.

Personal Interests

Outside of his academic and professional commitments, Saaswath engages in cycling, filmmaking, and photography. These personal interests reflect his diverse skill set and passion for creative expression.
