While attending Western Law School, I volunteered and summered at Western's Community Legal Clinic, CLS. CLS provides legal services to members of the London, Ontario community who could not otherwise afford legal assistance. Working and volunteering at CLS was an excellent experience that provided me with the practical legal skills I continue to use in my practice every day. After graduating in 2010, I continued to volunteer with CLS and Pro Bono Student Canada's Small Claims Court Project. I articled at Brown, Beattie, O'Donovan LLP ("BBO"), a full service firm in London, Ontario. In addition to drafting pleadings and conducting legal research, BBO gave me the opportunity to run a small claims court practice. My experience at BBO helped ease my transition from law student to lawyer. In Spring 2011, I joined Foster Townsend Graham & Associates ("FTGA") as an associate lawyer. My principle and mentor, Brian Foster, provided me with considerable responsibility and autonomy for a junior lawyer. I am profoundly grateful for the experience as well as the trust he had in me. At FTGA, my practice focused on insurance defence litigation including personal injury, product liability and property damage claims. I moved to Intact Insurance in 2016 where I work with some truly wonderful people and have continued to practice insurance defence litigation as an in-house lawyer. During my career, I have advocated for clients at motions, mediations, pre-trial conferences, administrative hearings and Superior Court of Justice trials. I am a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Middlesex Law Association and the Canadian Bar Association. I am married to a wonderful woman and we are the parents of two great kids.
