Currently serve as Assistant Program Manager for Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory’s (APL) Ocean Engineering Program. Possess a diverse technical and maritime background with most recent work focused on immersive training simulators, unmanned surface/underwater systems vessels, maritime operations, maritime domain awareness, modeling and simulation (M&S) of transport networks, critical infrastructure resilience modeling, autonomous vessel testing, sonar testing, and maritime security of high valued assets. At APL, lead modeling and simulation efforts to perform system resilience analysis, serve as contributing analyst for innovation initiatives, and continue to serve as Nuclear Weapons Security (NWS) project manager/analyst involved with R&D efforts where much of the emphasis is on sensor testing and evaluation as it relates to waterside security. Continue to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) resource for APL in terms of information concerning maritime simulation, commercial shipping and maritime operations. Apply Design Thinking approaches to product/solution development. Also have a background in remote sensing, image processing/analysis, and geospatial technologies for application to planning, infrastructure development, research, and training with particular application to the marine environment. Served as an officer in the U.S. Merchant Marine (license current). Past experience includes extensive maritime industry operations (at sea and ashore), modeling and simulation, and maritime consulting.
