About Monica Lopez, PhD
Monica is a 21st century polymath leading the way for an ethical and sustainable future with Artificial Intelligence(AI)-enabled technology as a Business Executive, Brain and Data Scientist, Entrepreneur, Public Speaker, and Writer. She takes a human-centric approach to the development and application of emerging smart technologies and advocates interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and entrepreneurial integration to drive innovation and connected communities. Monica is on the font line of the AI-enabled Autonomous Systems, Healthcare/Biotechnology, and Cybersecurity industries. As a business executive and entrepreneur, Monica is a dynamic, results-driven, strategic management leader and advisor with a proven track record of 15+ years managing multiple projects from conception to completion, developing persuasive communication strategies, generating and building relationships across sectors and disciplines with a range of stakeholders both nationally and globally, and researching data-driven decision-making to achieve behavioral change and organizational goals. She excels in dynamic, highly pressurized time-critical environments while remaining pragmatic and focused. As a brain scientist and artist, Monica has uniquely used her knowledge and expertise to make a positive impact in society. Using her original evidence-based work in the science of creativity and human intelligence, she has merged the brain, health, and social sciences with business strategy and storytelling skillfulness to advance projects and policy initiatives across AI design, development, deployment and management; and data analytics and communication. Monica has presented and published her work nationally and internationally in various formats across a range of venues. Monica is also teaching faculty at Johns Hopkins University. Her interdisciplinary courses sit at the intersection of AI, Cognitive Neuroscience, Design, Ethics, Entrepreneurship, and Public Policy. She believes in educating the next generation of STEMM visionaries and leaders as engaged and responsible citizens.
