Sohail Masood is the Founder and CEO of KabaFusion, a company he established in 2010. With over 30 years of experience in the home infusion industry, he has led KabaFusion to become the largest independently owned and privately held infusion company in the United States. In 2020, he significantly expanded the company's reach by acquiring the home infusion business of Lincare.
Education and Pharmacy Residency
Sohail Masood received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Southern California (USC) in 1988. Following his graduation, he completed his pharmacy residency at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, in 1989. This foundational education and training propelled him to make significant contributions in the field of home infusion therapy.
Entrepreneurial Ventures in Home Infusion and Medical Devices
Over his distinguished career, Sohail Masood has founded several companies, including Ultracare in 1992 and Crescent Healthcare, Inc. in 1995, which catered to the home infusion sector. Crescent Healthcare was later sold to Walgreens in 2011. In 2003, he started MAAS Medical, a medical device manufacturing company, which he sold to Baxter in 2007. His entrepreneurial achievements have been recognized multiple times, including being named Entrepreneur of the Year in Healthcare by Ernst & Young on three occasions.
Contributions to Down Syndrome Research and Community
Sohail Masood is highly involved in the Down Syndrome community. He is an Emeritus Board Member of LuMind, a foundation focused on Down Syndrome research and treatment, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress. His commitment also extends to his personal life, where he supported his son, Omar, in fulfilling a dream to open 'Omar’s World of Comics,' a comic book store in Lexington, MA.
Innovative Research and Board Memberships
Sohail Masood has initiated new research into the uses of Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG), particularly for treating Diabetic Neuropathy (DN) through his non-profit organization, Dysimmune Diseases Foundation. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Trustees for the Worcester Arts Museum in Worcester, MA, and is the Chairman of TV Pakistan. His industry influence is further reflected by his membership in the National Home Infusion Association.
