He worked at Rakuten as QA Lead from 2018 to 2020 and at Qualys as Lead Automation Engineer from 2011 to 2012. His experience also includes positions at Agilone as QA Director, Arena Solutions as Sr. QA Manager, and Oracle as QA Manager. Education and Qualifications
Hen You Tan earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University, where he studied from 1985 to 1990. He later obtained a Master of Science in Engineering/Industrial Management from The George Washington University, completing his studies from 1991 to 1994. His educational background provides a strong foundation for his work in software engineering and management.
Key Projects and Initiatives
During his tenure at Knightscope, Hen You Tan led significant upgrades to the KSOC web application infrastructure, including the upgrade of MongoDB from version 3.0 to 3.4 and the Django Rest API from Python 2.7 to 3.8. He also designed and implemented a new cloud infrastructure in AWS GovCloud to meet FedRAMP Compliance. Additionally, he played a key role in getting Knightscope listed as In-Process for an authorized Cloud Service Offer on the FedRAMP Marketplace.
