He also served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2012 to 2015.

He earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Optics from The Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester, where he studied from 2004 to 2011.
