Caitlyn Krikorian has been employed at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory since 2017, where she currently serves as a Materials Research Engineer. In 2021, she took on the role of Group Lead for the Functional Architected Materials Engineering (FAME) group within the Materials Engineering Division. Her responsibilities include overseeing various projects related to materials engineering and leading research initiatives. Prior to her current position, she worked as a Polymer Engineer at the same laboratory from 2016 to 2017.

Caitlyn Krikorian holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Materials Engineering, which she earned from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2011 to 2015. Before joining Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Caitlyn Krikorian worked as a Coatings Research Assistant at Cal Poly Corporation for five months in 2016. Additionally, she served as the OLED Research Team Lead at Cal Poly College of Engineering for three months in 2015. These roles contributed to her expertise in materials engineering and polymer science, shaping her career trajectory in research and development.

Research Interests and Projects

Caitlyn Krikorian's research interests focus on the micro- and nanofabrication of hierarchically engineered materials for multifunctional integration. She is particularly interested in understanding structure-property relationships and curing kinetics in polymers. As a principal investigator, she leads an Exploratory Research Laboratory Directed Research & Development (LDRD) project on Shape Changing of Responsive Elastomer Structures (SCoRES) and serves as the technical lead on a project aimed at developing flexible display and power source technologies.

Leadership Roles

In addition to her role as Group Lead at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Caitlyn Krikorian serves as the deputy director for the Center of Engineered Materials and Manufacturing (CEMM). In this capacity, she contributes to advancing research and development in engineered materials and manufacturing processes, further establishing her leadership within the field.
