Cindy Gonzales has co-founded and serves as the Technical Lead for the Data Science Institute's Career Panel Seminar Series. She leads a Data Science Capstone project with students from Brigham Young University, focusing on machine learning applications for detecting seizures from EEG signals. Additionally, she was the 2022 Women in Data Science (WiDS) Regional Co-Ambassador and organized the Winter 2022 Hackathon, including the WiDS Datathon.
Community Involvement
Cindy Gonzales actively participates in community initiatives at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. She co-chairs the Women's Association New Mom's Group and serves as a mentor for participants in the UC Data Science Challenge. Furthermore, she acts as the Division Representative for the Computing 101 Seminar Series and is a member of the Computing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, where she chairs the Subcommittee on Inclusive Hybrid Workplaces.
