Teeler has extensive experience in public safety and law enforcement. He worked at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in various capacities, including State Police Officer - Game Warden from 1996 to 2002, and Program Manager - Homeland Security and Emergency Management Chief from 2016 to 2018. He also served as a Cadet Class Coordinator from 2002 to 2007, demonstrating a commitment to training and developing future law enforcement professionals.

Teeler has a strong educational background in criminal justice and law enforcement administration. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Sociology from Texas State University-San Marcos, followed by a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University.
