She also earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Water Resources Management and Water Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she studied from 1990 to 1993. Additionally, she completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with Highest Honors in Geography and Geology at the University of Iowa from 1986 to 1990.
