For the past 15+ years I have been practicing law in dynamic environments, including in-house and boutique law firms. I have developed deep expertise in preparing and negotiating the following types of agreements: intellectual property, consulting and master services, estate and trusts, real estate, asset and equity transactions, corporate compliance, franchise and employment. Further, I'm an expert at managing corporate legal affairs and records, preparing financing memorandums and business plans. I also performed trustee duties and investment advisory to a family office. I previously managed investor relations and assisted in legal affairs at a large globally diversified private equity and specialty finance company in Chicago. My other experience includes valuation consulting, business development at a marketing intelligence company, I used to be a PHP and javascript programmer, and starting a venture capital-backed high-tech startup during the dot-com boom. I earned a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, an M.S. in Finance from DePaul University, a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Miami University. I am co-founder and former Board Member of the Strategy, Execution and Valuation Alumni Association at DePaul University and am the 2006 recipient of DePaul University's Helene Ramanauskas-Marconi Prize recognizing outstanding alumni contributions in accounting. I have been a finalist in several entrepreneurship competitions, most recently at the 2004 Olin Cup Competition at Washington University in St. Louis where I led the only student headed team to the finals.
