About Naima Ali

I am a King’s College London undergraduate studying Politics, Philosophy & Law. My interest in commercial law, specifically, sprouted from my participation in the Linklaters Making Links School Challenge in April 2019. This essay-writing competition concerned what participants thought was the most innovative or disruptive thing in the business world. What was my answer? Amazon… This led me to win £10,000 for Portsmouth College, which is being used towards finding professional work experience for disadvantaged students. Just as I thought my luck had ended, I entered the CMS Law Scholarship essay-writing competition in September of 2019. I wrote about whether searches should be compulsory in secondary schools and was named one of the four winners. This award will fund part of my university education, as well as provide me with legal work experience. When the Covid-19 pandemic struck, I found myself without a goal to work towards. I joined LawyerUp with the hopes of gaining insight into the legal field but was promoted to represent the company as Global Head of Operations and the Europe Programme Director. In this role, I oversee the execution of a virtual internship accommodating over 800 interns across 26 countries and coordinate our legal writing programme, ScholarUp. Like any other student, I am still discovering my passions and interests. Therefore, I am always open to connecting to new people and learning your stories.
