Education and Expertise
Julian Sumpter holds a Master's degree in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland University College. He also earned a Bachelor's degree in Integrated Information Technology from the University of South Carolina-Columbia. His education has equipped him with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) protocols, which include 453 controls and 1892 assessment procedures. He performs IAM Level II functions as outlined in DoD 8570.01, maintaining the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) account for Army training information systems.

In his current role and previous positions, Julian Sumpter has been responsible for drafting and implementing security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with Joint Base Langley Force Protection requirements. He conducts cyber, security, and risk assessments specifically for the U.S. Army training information systems at Joint Base Langley – Eustis. His work involves preparing security documentation and conducting risk assessments to support the certification and accreditation processes.
