Rakesh Soni holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, which he completed from 2002 to 2006. He furthered his education by earning a Master of Science (MS) in Engineering from the University of Alberta between 2006 and 2009. His academic background has provided him with a strong foundation in engineering principles, which he has applied throughout his nearly two decades of experience in business development, fundraising, and sales.

Before his current endeavors, Rakesh Soni gained valuable experience in various roles. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager at KMC Mining from 2010 to 2013. Additionally, he co-founded NyaConcepts Innovation Lab, where he focused on marketing and design from 2011 to 2017. Earlier in his career, he served as a Research Assistant at the University of Paderborn for one month in 2005 and as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Alberta from 2006 to 2009.
