Before joining Long View Systems, Christopher Walker accumulated extensive experience in database administration. He worked at Fujitsu Canada as a Database Administrator from 2005 to 2015, and prior to that, he held positions at Hewlett-Packard as a Developer and Database Administrator from 1999 to 2005. He also served as a Database Specialist and Programmer at the Canadian Cancer Society for eight months in 2015-2016. His career in database administration spans over 15 years, with a focus on both Oracle and MS SQL databases.
Education and Expertise
Christopher Walker studied at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, where he earned an Honors Diploma in Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology from 1996 to 1998. His educational background laid the foundation for his expertise in database administration, particularly in performance tuning and Quality Assurance. He is proficient in various technologies, including SQL Server 2005 to 2016, Azure, T-SQL, PL/SQL, SCOM, Asigra, Snap Manager, and Oracle 10g to 12c.
Teaching and Coordination Experience
From 1999 to 2007, Christopher Walker worked at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) as an Instructor and Program Coordinator. During his eight years in this role, he contributed to the education of students in the Edmonton, Canada area.
