He served as Officer In Charge at the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Strategic Comm Unit from 2006 to 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Prior to that, he worked as an Electronics Material Officer at the Naval Submarine Support Command in Pearl Harbor from 1999 to 2003. His earlier role included serving as Communications Officer/Electronics Material Officer on the USS Emory S Land from 1997 to 1999 in La Madd, Italy.

Mike Julch studied at Thomas Edison State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from 2004 to 2008.
