Before assuming his current position as Design and Development Leader, Jared L. worked at Lutron Electronics as a Senior Design and Development Engineer from 2014 to 2020. During this period, he played an instrumental role in advancing the development of new products and methods. Jared's responsibilities included guiding the fabrics development team to develop new testing methods, streamline quality specifications, and redevelop manufacturing methods. His efforts led to the launch of 12 new fabric families.
Military Experience in the United States Air Force
Jared L. served in the United States Air Force in various capacities. From 2011 to 2014, he was a C-17A Aircraft Commander/Pilot, and prior to that, from 2009 to 2011, he underwent Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training as a Pilot. Earlier, from 2006 to 2009, Jared worked as a Developmental Engineer (Senior Test Engineer). His military background provided him with skills in leadership, precision, and engineering disciplines, which he later applied to his civilian career.

Jared L. obtained a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida, where he studied from 2007 to 2013. He also earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, completing his undergraduate studies from 2002 to 2006. Additionally, he holds a certificate in Plastics Technology and Engineering from the American Injection Molding Institute, where he studied from 2018 to 2019.
Project Leadership and Mentoring
Throughout his career, Jared L. has led significant projects and mentored new engineers. He successfully spearheaded the development and specifications of glass, including GD&T, strengthening/case depth, and ink/adhesion selection. Additionally, he engineered plastic parts, ensuring they met stringent mechanical and aesthetic requirements. Jared has supervised, mentored, and trained new engineers in areas such as 3D parametric CAD modeling, tolerance analysis, design of experiments, and the presentation of results, ensuring the growth of future engineering talent.
