I have enjoyed a worthwhile career for over ten years with the Big Lottery Fund and have developed the ability to interact with people at all levels having an attitude and approach that is consultative, practical, empathetic and diplomatic. My role has been at both a manager level and as a senior union representative and I have prided myself on being able to develop and maintain a positive relationship with colleagues, senior managers and HR. It is this experience that has led me to train professionally for a role in Human Resources and I am currently completing the final part of CIPD level 7 (MA). People tell me I am solution focused, able to think strategically yet can pay attention to detail. I am able to manage sensitive issues, identify risk and to reach mutually satisfactory conclusions to difficult situations be these management issues or related to employee relations. ‘Humanising employment relations one conversation at a time’ brings the best results for the employees and in turn reaps higher rewards for the business.
