About Sayan Saha
I am currently in the Engineering Development Group at the MathWorks. Prior to joining as an Application Support Engineer in January 2018, I was pursuing my Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Controller Design and Modelling from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York under the advisement of Dr. Anak Agung Julius. I have also obtained a course-based MS degree in Applied Mathematics with optimization algorithms as the concentration in Spring of 2016. I have completed my Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation & Electronics Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India in 2012. During the span of my doctoral studies, my research interests were in the areas of hybrid systems, robotics, control theory, optimization and machine learning. My thesis topic was synthesizing controllers for optimal and correct system behaviors such that the resulting system trajectories satisfy some safety/reachability criteria and/or temporal logic specifications with desired robustness. Moreover, the aim was also to incorporate the controllers with reactiveness property so as to account for dynamical changes in the system environment in real time. I also have experience in the field of machine learning and data analytics in terms of various course projects related to developing models for time-series data prediction.
