Akbar Piloti has held multiple key positions at MAXIMUS over the years. From 2006 to 2007, he served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Operations Segment. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2006, he was the President of the Workforce Services Division. His earlier roles include Vice President of the Welfare Reform Division from 1998 to 2000, Regional Projects Manager of the Welfare Reform Division from 1997 to 1998, and Project Manager of Fairfax Works from 1996 to 1997.
Experience at Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services
Before joining MAXIMUS, Akbar Piloti worked at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services. In 1996, he was the Deputy District Director, Human Services Administrator. From 1993 to 1996, he held the position of GAIN Supervisor and Backup Regional Administrator. Additionally, between 1989 and 1993, he was the Acting Regional Administrator of the LA GAIN Program.
Educational Background
Akbar Piloti holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix, which he earned between 1990 and 1992. He also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Kabul, completed between 1974 and 1978.

Akbar Piloti has played a significant role in leading MAXIMUS' expansion into multiple international markets, including Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Sweden, Italy, and Korea.
