About Max Shkud
I’m perpetually curious about what it takes to fully develop and unleash the creative intelligence and leadership capacity of every individual, team, and business, in service to their customers and beneficiaries. I believe that deep down, every person in the workplace yearns to discover, develop, and express their distinct potential, and do it in a way that makes a real difference in customers’ lives. Unfortunately, most corporate cultures unwittingly undermine the creative intelligence and purposeful agency of their people. Through my work with dozens of businesses, I have discovered that three capabilities in people and culture are pivotal in reversing this trend and enabling a business and everyone in it to thrive: 1: "Mind of a CEO"—where everyone, from top to bottom, thinks holistically and systemically about the business, acts with self-accountability and self-discipline, and focuses on innovating on behalf of the customer. 2: Self-directed leadership culture—where instead of waiting for direction or working in silos, everyone takes full responsibility for leading the whole business as one integrated business team. 3: Customer and industry consciousness—where everyone understands and anticipates the needs, aspirations, and trends of the customer and industry and knows how their work directly impacts customer outcomes. I've had the privilege to help build these capabilities at Microsoft, T-Mobile, Roche, West, HP, Airbnb, HoneyBook, Plug and Play, and Royal Bank of Scotland. I primarily work with F500s who want to regenerate their innovation, industry leadership, and speed; I also love working with fast-growing "unicorns" who want to scale their cultural DNA as they grow. Expertise: ► Developing "mind of a CEO" at every level ► Cultivating distributed leadership and decision-making ► Growing leadership culture where everyone takes full responsibility for the whole business ► Developing customer-centered focus where everyone works backwards from customer aspirations ► Helping "unicorns" scale their cultural DNA through rapid growth ► Leadership team retreats and offsites
