Previous Experience in Legal Roles
Before joining Milestone Systems, Michael Thumand held various legal positions. He worked as a Senior Executive Legal Officer at DTU - Technical University of Denmark from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, he served as a Senior Legal Advisor at the same institution from 2018 to 2020. His earlier roles include Assistant Attorney and Attorney At Law at Nuna Law in Greenland, and Legal Advisor at Transport-, Bygnings- og Boligministeriet in København from 2013 to 2017.
Education and Expertise
Michael Thumand holds multiple degrees in Law. He achieved his Cand. Jur. from Aarhus University and an LL.M. from the University of Aberdeen. He also completed a Single course in economics at Handelshøjskolen i Aarhus. His academic journey included an exchange program at Stellenbosch University and the University of Aberdeen, enhancing his international legal perspective.
Technological Integration in Legal Practices
Michael Thumand has demonstrated expertise in integrating technology within legal processes. He coordinated the exchange of the entire IT system at Nuna Law Firm and developed a contract negotiation system using machine learning. His personal interest in IT projects includes configuring a Proxmox server to run multiple virtual machines, which supports his understanding of computer technologies in legal contexts.

In addition to his legal practice, Michael Thumand has experience in academia. He served as a lecturer at the University of Southern Denmark and Business Academy West. He also worked as an International Student Counsellor at the University of Aarhus Law School, providing guidance to students and contributing to their educational experience.
