Michael Piwowar has significantly contributed to various government roles. He was the Republican chief economist for the US Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs from 2009 to 2013. Additionally, he served as a Senior Economist at the President’s Council of Economic Advisers during the financial crisis.
