Abi studied at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where she earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in International Relations from 2014 to 2017. She furthered her education at the University of Surrey, obtaining a Master of Arts (MA) in Creative Writing from 2019 to 2020. Additionally, she participated in summer schools at the University of Kerala and SOAS University of London in 2016, focusing on society, culture, and the Arabic language.
Previous Experience at Mind
Prior to her current role, Abi held several positions at Mind. She worked as a Mental Health Services Quality Reviewer from 2020 to 2021 and as a Network Quality Officer from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, she served as a Leadership Development Coordinator and a Graduate Leadership Trainee from 2017 to 2018. In these roles, she facilitated peer support among mental health charities and delivered bespoke organizational development work.
Early Education and Qualifications
Abi completed her secondary education at The Gilberd School in Colchester, where she achieved 8 A*s, including in English, Maths, and Science, along with 2 As and a Distinction in IT. She then attended Colchester Sixth Form College, where she studied Philosophy, Psychology, English Language and Literature, and History, earning A-level qualifications from 2012 to 2014.
