Naomi Lea serves as the Young People's Participation & Influence Officer at Mind, a position she has held since 2021. In this role, she focuses on enhancing the involvement of young people in mental health initiatives and ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes. Her work aims to empower youth and promote mental well-being within communities.
Previous Experience at WCVA and CGGC
Prior to her current role, Naomi worked as a Youth Volunteering Support Officer at WCVA | CGGC from 2020 to 2021 for a duration of eight months. In this capacity, she supported youth volunteering initiatives, helping to facilitate opportunities for young people to engage in community service and develop their skills.
Educational Background
Naomi Lea completed her Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology at Cardiff University from 2016 to 2020. Prior to that, she attended Ysgol Glan Clwyd, where she achieved A levels in Mathematics, English Literature, and Biology from 2014 to 2016, as well as GCSEs from 2009 to 2014.
Voluntary Engagement and Leadership
Naomi has a strong background in voluntary work, including her role as a Childline Counsellor with NSPCC since 2017. She has also served as a Young Ambassador and Campaigner with NSPCC from 2015 to 2019. Additionally, she has held various positions with the #iwill campaign, including Young Representative and Ambassador, contributing to youth advocacy and engagement initiatives.
Founding and Leadership Roles
Naomi founded and served as CEO of Spot the Signs - Adnabod yr Arwyddion from 2015 to 2019, focusing on raising awareness around mental health issues. She also founded YL Project Hope CIC in 2020, where she continues to serve as Director, leading efforts to support young people's mental health and well-being.
