Karen Soderberg currently serves as Supervisor of e-Health and Health Information Exchange at the Minnesota Department of Health, a position she has held since 2023. Previously, she worked in various roles within the department, including Acting Assistant Director of the Health Policy Division from 2020 to 2023, and Health IT Assessment & Evaluation Researcher from 2012 to 2015. Soderberg also held the position of Research Scientist in Health Informatics from 2015 to 2019. Her work has focused on the development and oversight of statewide health information exchange (HIE) programs.

Karen Soderberg earned a Master of Science in Health Services Research from the University of Minnesota, completing her studies from 2005 to 2008. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from St. Olaf College, which she obtained from 1983 to 1987. Background
Before her tenure at the Minnesota Department of Health, Soderberg worked at the University of Minnesota as a Research Coordinator from 2004 to 2010 and as a Research Fellow from 2010 to 2012.
