About Nandan Lad
A Professor of Neurosurgery and Vice Chair of Innovation at Duke University, my career is marked by a passion for innovation in Surgery, AI, Medical devices, Digital health. With a strong foundation in translational research supported by over $10M in NIH funding, I am dedicated to advancing our understanding and standard of care in healthcare. My work extends beyond the operating room to include significant contributions across multiple specialties, aiming to foster a new era that embraces technology and innovation. I lead an active translational research program that benefits from Duke's collaborative environment, harnessing the creative talents and strong partnerships with talented team members. My research interests are diverse, currently focusing on: 1) Neuromodulation and Neurorestoration, 2) Intersection of Surgery and ML/AI, 3) Utilizing Big Data for Health Outcomes and Analytics. Outside of my professional roles, I am deeply committed to my family. My personal and professional journeys are intertwined, each informing and enriching the other.
