Before founding Moonshot Snacks and Planet FWD, Julia Collins held several positions in the food and hospitality sectors. She worked as the Director of Restaurant Development and Food Service at Murray's Cheese from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, she was a Managing Partner at Mexicue from 2010 to 2012 and served as a Business Analyst at Union Square Hospitality Group from 2009 to 2010. Her diverse experience in these roles contributed to her expertise in the food industry.

Julia Collins earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where she studied from 2007 to 2009. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Government from Harvard University, completed from 1997 to 2001. Her academic background provides her with a strong foundation in business and governance, which she applies in her entrepreneurial ventures.

Achievements and Contributions

Julia Collins co-founded Zume Pizza, becoming the first Black woman to create a company valued at over a billion dollars. She served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Harlem Jazz Enterprises, contributing to The Cecil winning Best New Restaurant of the Year. Collins is also an active angel investor, focusing on funding female entrepreneurs and BIPOC founders, and sits on several advisory councils, including Launch with GS and the Food for Climate League board.
