About Mary Frost Weitzel
A leader with a unique blend of scientific, engineering, business and customer-centric commercialization skills. I am co-founder of Yaso Therapeutics and have served as President and CEO since we first licensed our platform polymer drug and served as Principal Investigator for ten years, leading NIH-funded drug development from benchtop to IND. As a research and development leader, I was invited to serve as a grant reviewer for both NIAID and NICHD on topics of sexually transmitted HIV, HSV and contraceptives. Prior to founding Yaso, I served as President of Instead Inc, (now Evofem) a women’s reproductive health company. Prior to Instead, I was President of CBI (a ThermoElectron company), a contract designer of brands, brand strategy, product formulation and manufacturer of personal care products of gels, creams, lotions, and OTC topical products. Customers included luxury brands, multi-level marketers, doctors, spas, and mass market. These four years gave me an incredible education about women’s preferences and how their behavior drove product choice. Prior to ThermoElectron I worked as President or Operations manager in specialty chemicals (Nashua Corporation) and polymers (Raychem Corporation – now Tyco).
