I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2009 at the height of the financial crisis. When I joined the listing department of the foreclosure firm McCabe, Weisberg & Conway, I did not understand the magnitude of the financial crisis. My curiosity motivated me to learn a complex civil litigation system involving both foreclosure and consumer bankruptcy, and take on cases from some of the largest and most legally intricate counties in Pennsylvania. Once I entered Temple Law School in 2011, I wanted to continue building on my knowledge of bankruptcy and financial law. In my second year I enrolled in a banking and financial regulation course. During this course I began to understand the depth and breadth of the financial crisis. It was a difficult course, but my curiosity again motivated me to excel in the course and earn distinguished class performance. Last summer I worked for the Delaware Department of Justice as a summer law clerk. I began my summer in the fraud division working on complex consumer protection cases. In addition, I took my knowledge of Dodd-Frank and gave a presentation to the fraud division on their authority to pursue different consumer protection cases. I was also able to revise and amend the Delaware Securities Code to release the DOJ’s official version that was distributed this past fall. I then worked in the civil division researching and writing memos for the finance department about a possible interstate compact. During the fall semester of 2013 I was given the extraordinary opportunity to participate in the United States Attorney’s office bankruptcy clinical. I was able to handle actual consumer bankruptcy cases involving both small business and student loan debts. I was able to participate in aspects of litigation and trial preparation. In the spring, I was also one of two students selected to spend the semester in the chambers of the Honorable Kevin J. Carey as an assistant clerk. Since joining the Law Offices of Pamela D. Hargrove, I have gained extensive trial experience with double digit trial wins over the last 4 years. I routinely handle a caseload in excess of 130 cases with double digit cases proceeding through trial to a verdict per year. I pride myself on thorough and quality representation of my clients to obtain a fair settlement or favorable trial verdict.
