Before joining New Fortress Energy, Geoffrey Johnson worked at EXMAR Ship Management as a Marine Automation Engineer from 2016 to 2018. His role involved responsibilities across various locations, including Brazil, Dubai, and Boston. Prior to that, he served as a Marine Electrical Engineer at EXMAR Ship Management from 2010 to 2016, gaining extensive experience in the marine sector. His earlier career also includes a position as a Senior Electrical/Instrumentation Technician at UC RUSAL (Windalco) from 2003 to 2010.

Education and Expertise

Geoffrey Johnson has a strong educational background in industrial electronics and systems operation. He studied at the Vocational Training and Development Institute, where he earned a diploma in Industrial Electronics Technology. He also holds an Associate's degree in Industrial Systems Operation & Maintenance from the Caribbean Maritime Institute. Additionally, he has pursued further studies in Supervisory Management at The University of the West Indies and Project Management at Robert Gordon University. He is currently studying for a BEng in Industrial Systems at the Caribbean Maritime Institute.

Technical Skills and Responsibilities

In his current role, Geoffrey Johnson conducts and consults on FSRU/LNGC STS and Terminal SSC Studies. He witnesses Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for all vendor equipment supplied. His technical expertise extends to providing support for RFQ and RFP packages, including generating requisitions and reviewing vendor data. He also conducts training and sources training for Electrical and Instrumentation team members, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

Vendor Interfaces and Collaboration

Geoffrey Johnson manages main vendor interfaces, which include Universal Pegasus International (UPI), Rockwell, Emerson, Manntek, Incentrik, Trelleborg SSL, Klaw, Mampaey, and ISCS technical. His role requires effective collaboration with these vendors to ensure that technical requirements are met and that projects are executed successfully. This collaboration is crucial for the seamless operation of marine terminals and the implementation of automation systems.
