I have been working for the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene at the Public Health Laboratories as a microbiologist for 3 years. I am clinically licensed in New York State. I have experience performing DNA and RNA extractions using a variety of methods including the EZ Mag, EZ1, MagnaPure, and Qiagen manual extraction kits. I have worked and performed testing in several labs including Food Microbiology, Legionella, Whole Genome Sequencing, and Virology. In Addition, I am part of the Bioterrorism Unit and select agent certified with the federal select agent program. I am also trained in BSL3 lab practices and procedures. I have experience performing Clostridium botulinum toxin mouse assays and am currently participating in a multi-center study with CDC for the detection and differentiation of Botulinum Neurotoxins using Mass Spectrometry.
