About Nick Thomas
With over 30 years as a founder, operator, investor, engineer and advisor, I have been at the forefront of multiple technology revolutions, including the Internet (via PSTN internet access, wired and wireless Local Area Networking, wireless internet access, mobile telephony, and short range wireless connectivity), open finance, and artificial intelligence/machine learning. I have created multiple organizations that empower consumers and businesses with data access, digital trust, and interoperability with consent of the data owners. Currently, I advise Fin Capital, a venture capital firm that invests in fintech startups that are shaping the future of finance. I also co-chair the Governors Fintech Advisory Council at the State of Utah, co-founded the Financial Data Exchange, a global open banking technology standard, and advise several organizations on product, business and regulatory strategies. My passion is to build a more inclusive, transparent, and secure digital world, where people have full control of their data and can engage pseudonymously.
