I believe a key element to connection is sharing our stories. Trust begins to build when we know each other beyond the context of the immediate environment by investing time in sharing more of ourselves with the team. I'm curious about how storytelling in meetings (and business) influences psychological safety, trust, relationship building, and employees speaking up in meetings. When more people talk in meetings, how does that positively influence the outcome through creativity, innovation, knowledge sharing, and co-creating new stories? How does feeling a sense of participation in the meeting influence the individual's sense of inclusion, belonging, and mattering? These are things I am curious about. Through a hands-on learning approach, I help teams and organizations host spaces where powerful questions focused on "what if" in conversations lead to actionable steps for individuals, teams, and organizations achieving successful and sustainable change. Leveraging the practical knowledge gained through leadership roles in retail, manufacturing, and broadcast media coupled with academic pursuits, I invite conversations with storytelling at the foundation to ensure everyone in the meeting space feels comfortable speaking up and sharing their ideas. Belmont, MI, is where my wife and I, four kids, five dogs, a rabbit, two ferrets, and some chickens call home. In our free time, we enjoy exploring nature at the many parks in the area, cooking together, all of the lakes, and all of the culture Greater Grand Rapids, MI has to offer.
