Work at Northvolt
Currently, Hilal Bilgin works as an Energy Engineer at Northvolt, a role she has held since 2022. In this position, she motivates and supports various teams in assessing and implementing energy efficiency improvement measures. She conducts internal and external energy and Energy Management System (EnMS) audits to ensure compliance and efficiency. Additionally, she forecasts energy consumption for Northvolt's giga factory during production, construction, and commissioning phases, aligning with energy suppliers to manage electricity volumes. Hilal also leads energy mapping initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and has played a significant role in the implementation and development of the ISO 50001 Energy Management System as the chair of the EnMS Team.
Previous Experience in Energy Efficiency
Hilal Bilgin has extensive experience in energy efficiency roles prior to her current position at Northvolt. She worked at Ekosmart Enerji as Chief Energy Efficiency Engineer from 2016 to 2018, and as Energy Efficiency Engineer from 2015 to 2016. In these roles, she focused on energy efficiency projects and initiatives. Additionally, she served as Assistant Technical Manager at Ekosmart Enerji from 2018 to 2020. Her experience also includes a position as Project Engineer (Energy Efficiency) at Şişecam from 2021 to 2022, where she contributed to energy efficiency projects in Kocaeli, Turkey.

Hilal Bilgin holds a Master of Science degree in Energy Systems Engineering from Kocaeli University, which she completed from 2016 to 2018.
