An important aspect that separates my passion and desire when working with my client's wealth/strategy/retirement/insurance/buisness planning, and much more comes from direct personal experience growing up with business professional parents. In his early 40s, my father had a brain aneurysm that left him with permanent brain damage and daily short term memory loss after 3 months in the ICU and over a year of learning how to talk, walk, and basic functions. He was never able to return to work nor return to what was normalcy for him and our family. The poor financial advise from their advisor and lack of an actual planning process (although my parents were very intelligent and savvy) became very apparent after such events. This lead to many ripples in the daily life and finances that could have been mitigated on numerous levels with an actual financial advisor that worked with clients on full planning instead of only focused on accounts. My purpose in financial planning is to cultivate long-term trust-based relationships with my clients. Asking the difficult questions and providing truth and guidance, my clients are empowered to make difficult decisions - and take strategic action to plan and set goals to build upon. While for others it may focus on tax strategies, generational planning, wealth transfer while designing passive income streams and separating how taxable and tax-free dollars can be designed for higher net worth clients and business owners.
