Michele Welsh is General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Novanta Inc. (NASDAQ: NOVT) in the Greater Boston area. At Novanta Michele leads the company’s global legal, regulatory, corporate secretary, and environmental health & safety organizations. Prior to joining Novanta, Michele was Vice President, Assistant General Counsel & Legal Compliance at Carlisle Companies Incorporated in Scottsdale, Arizona (NYSE: CSL). At Carlisle, Michele managed M&A and strategic transactions, commercial and corporate matters and as the lead global compliance counsel at Carlisle, oversaw a wide-range of trade, securities and other regulatory functions. Prior to her time at Carlisle, Michele was Associate General Counsel – Global M&A at Aon plc (NYSE: AON) where she led Aon’s M&A legal team in counseling the company in its global acquisitions, divestitures, joint venture and other strategic transactions. Michele's management responsibilities included the legal team advising on Aon's global procurement, real estate and related matters and, as global lead attorney for Aon's Transaction Solutions business unit, facilitating the business unit's varied legal needs. While at Aon, Michele also provided extensive legal counsel on commercial transactions, securities compliance and offerings, board and corporate governance and other regulatory matters. Prior to her in-house legal career, Michele practiced law at Neal Gerber & Eisenberg LLP in Chicago, Illinois and at Thompson Coburn LLP in St. Louis, Missouri, focusing at both firms on transactional, corporate governance and securities matters.
