David Aragón is an Audio Visual Officer with extensive experience in multimedia production and technology management. He has worked in various roles across multiple organizations, contributing to projects in Barcelona and London since 2009.

Current Role at ODI

David Aragón serves as an Audio Visual Officer at the Overseas Development Institute since 2018. In this role, he manages and supports video conferencing accounts across multiple platforms, including Zoom, Teams, Webex, and Bluejeans. He handles IT service desk responsibilities for audio-visual issues affecting over 250 employees. Additionally, he has built and managed a live stream studio, overseeing equipment research, installation, and control.

Education and Qualifications

David Aragón has an extensive educational background in audiovisual media and related fields. He studied at the University of Hertfordshire, where he earned a Master’s degree in Film and TV from the School of Creative Arts in 2015. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Media from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, completed in 2014. Prior to that, he achieved a CFGS in Audiovisual Projects and Shows from Sant Ignasi-Sarrià in 2010. Additionally, he obtained a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification from the Royal Life Saving Society UK in 2014.

Previous Work Experience

Before joining the Overseas Development Institute, David Aragón accumulated diverse experience in the audiovisual sector. He worked as a Video Control Operator, Lighting Technician, and Camera and Floor Manager at betevé from 2009 to 2015. He also served as a Freelancer at ARASONO from 2011 to 2014, specializing as a Boom Operator and Production Sound Mixer in Barcelona. Furthermore, he co-founded B-sion, where he worked as a Producer, Videographer, and Graphic Designer from 2012 to 2014.

Technical Contributions and Projects

Throughout his career, David Aragón has made significant technical contributions. He upgraded equipment to enable remote control of robot cameras, audio, lighting, and displays. He developed a hot desk booking system for an institute and migrated servers from a data center to the institute building. His efforts have improved access point coverage for better connectivity, enhancing the overall audiovisual experience within his organizations.
