Previous Experience in Public Finance
Granger has extensive experience in public finance across various organizations. She worked as a Senior Manager in Public Financial Management at Adam Smith International from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, she held multiple roles at The World Bank, including Fiscal Economist in 2012 and again in 2014. Additionally, she served as an In-Country Coordinator and Tax Policy and Budget Planning Advisor at ODI in Liberia from 2014 to 2016.
Education and Expertise
Hazel Granger holds a Master of Science in Development Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, which she completed from 2007 to 2008. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Cambridge, graduating between 1997 and 2000. Her educational background provides a strong foundation for her expertise in economic development, public finance, and taxation.
Contributions to Governance and Development
In her role at KfW Development Bank, Granger was involved in governance initiatives, including chairing the Donor Public Finance Management Working Group. She provided management support for a project with the Uganda Revenue Authority aimed at establishing a data warehouse. Granger also advises Development Partners on aid modalities, focusing on revenue mobilization and tax administration.
