About Gleb Babiy
I’m the founder and CEO of Aspect (aspect-health.com). We build a service for women’s metabolic health with an initial focus on PCOS, a syndrome that impacts 1 in 10 women in the US. Aspect collects data from Continuous Glucose Monitors, wearables and at-home blood tests to create personalized lifestyle modification plans for women who suffer from infertility and midlife weight gain due to insulin resistance. My journey into the world of health and wellness began early. When I was 10, an excess of female hormones in my body led my doctor to inform me that I would likely be unable to have children. This revelation profoundly affected my psyche, and a few years later, I made the decision to leave school and enter medical university at the age of 15 to seek a solution independently. When I was 17 years old, I co-authored and sold a technology that uses Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy to remotely analyze nutritional imbalances in the human body, such as deficiencies in K, Na, Mg, and other elements. Besides, I ran a small health coaching practice where I combined my knowledge of nutrition science, sleep physiology, stress management, and exercise physiology to help minimize the risk of chronic diseases while simultaneously improving the healthspan of my clients. I also had the opportunity to intern in the science department of a US startup Proteomica, where I worked with a group of scientists from MIT to research protocols of longevity and the latest innovations in proteome science. Outside of work and school, I've been passionate about the intersection of medicine and food. I've given public talks on the topic of how different foods affect the human body and launched a system for recycling used coffee in a chain of eco-friendly coffee houses. Finally, I was a finalist in the USA exchange program "Future Leaders Exchange" during my school days and represented Moldova at the national level in gymnastics and judo.
