About Julie Shi
I grew up in Shenzhen, China where my mom is also an entrepreneur. Growing up dreaming of winning the International Mathematical Olympiad, and enjoying the pure happiness of solving a complex problem just with pen and paper, I was exposed to coding later in high school. I fell in love with how it could influence the world and never looked back since. I was then really fanatic about hackathons. Being several hackathons winners from year to year, I also hosted three hackathons (2x Unihacks, and 1x Mega Hackathons) in my pure endeavors just to inspire more people to join the journey to dream wild and start from the smallest concrete prototype. I have gradually realized hackers are just a lifestyle for me. Worked at Meta, Amazon, and Pony.ai (where I was the youngest and only female engineer in the PNC team), while I appreciate the great vision and giant technology these corporate is building, my passion doesn't lie there as I enjoy the way more as being an entrepreneur, a hacker that I could substantiate my vision day to day, and solve the problems I care about. Now I am working fully on cutting-edge technology, specifically in the blockchain industry. Hope we could share a journey, using technology to make the world a better place.
