Lynn Mendez joined Opportunity Junction in June 2022 as a professional development instructor for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program. She began her collaboration with Opportunity Junction in February 2019, partnering as a Mt. Diablo Adult Education CNA instructor for the program's initial three classes. Her extensive experience in the healthcare sector makes her an invaluable asset to the institution.
Lynn Mendez Education and Expertise
Lynn Mendez’s background in healthcare is robust, starting with her role as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the early '90s, where she worked for about five years. She advanced her career by becoming a medical assistant and phlebotomist before attending nursing school. Thirteen years ago, she became a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Her career has included providing care in various facilities such as homes, behavioral health centers, mental health centers, prisons, and schools.

Lynn Mendez has a long history of dedication to healthcare and education. After working as a CNA, she broadened her skill set by becoming a medical assistant and phlebotomist. In addition to her professional healthcare roles, Lynn has been deeply involved in teaching and training aspiring CNAs, starting as an instructor at Mt. Diablo Adult Education and later joining Opportunity Junction.
Lynn Mendez Personal Life and Interests
Lynn Mendez is a mother of four grown men and a grandmother to four grandchildren. She enjoys a rich family life, having been married for 34 years. In her spare time, she enjoys activities such as biking, swimming laps, and riding her scooter in the neighborhood. Lynn also owns three big dogs and finds joy in playing with them daily.
