Akmal Akhpah holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he studied from 2001 to 2005. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Science in Software Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia between 2009 and 2011. Additionally, he participated in a three-month program at Y Combinator in 2021, enhancing his entrepreneurial skills and knowledge in startup development.

Background

Akmal Akhpah began his career as a Software Engineer at Intel Corporation from 2005 to 2009. He then transitioned to the World Health Organization, where he worked as a BPM Product Specialist for six years. In 2007, he co-founded Aidan Technologies Sdn Bhd, serving as Founder and COO until 2021. His work at Aidan included the creation of BORANG, a Government-as-a-Platform initiative in Southeast Asia.

Achievements

Throughout his career, Akmal has co-founded several tech companies focused on enhancing government services and education. Notably, he introduced the OKR framework to his team at Aidan Technologies in 2015, contributing to the company's growth. He also developed ePMDS, an employee performance management software, in collaboration with international HR experts at the World Health Organization. In 2020, he founded Flowyteam, a platform designed to assist organizations in building high-performance teams.
